  • Overview

    We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team! The Analyst assists the department by coordinating the planning and implementation of a comprehensive portfolio of transportation programs. The analyst helps meet administrative, reporting and compliance requirements of grant agreements and promote best practices for the administration of grant funds with emphasis in grants financial management and closeout. This position requires prior experience working with financial data, reports, setting up business processes, understanding transportation safety and security grants, attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to build relationships.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing and analyzing large data sets using Excel
    • Obtaining information from our client’s financial system (SAP or PeopleSoft) and organizing information for adjustment requests
    • Analyze grant expenditures and activities to ensure they are allowable according to the grant agreement
    • Gather and analyze financial and narrative data, submit reports to provide context for management decisions and to fulfill grantor requirements
    • Prepare required periodic grant reports and payment requests
    • Assist with gathering and submitting data for A-133 audits
    • Analyzing detailed data elements for compliance with broad grant guidelines
    • Preparing written summaries of processes used for data reporting and analyses
    • Summarizing, in verbal and/or written form, the findings of data analyses
    • Creating databases for tracking financial and non--financial project milestones

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Masters degree is desirable
    • Minimum of 5–6 years of related financial management or program support in a Federal contracting environment
    • Experience with MS Office Suite with emphasis on Excel with extensive experience in developing and managing spreadsheets and analyzing data
    • Experience working with Federal contracts and/or grants in a financial capacity
    • Demonstrated fluency in financial terminology and budget monitoring
    • Strong commitment to client satisfaction
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
